Pamban Bridge

The Pamban Sea Bridge, is a historic railway bridge that connects the town of Rameswaram on Pamban Island to mainland India. On 6th April 2025 Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji inaugurated the new Pamban Bridge which is also India’s first vertical sea bridge.

 

Kalam Memorial

The Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial in Rameswaram is a tribute to India’s 11th president, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who was also known as the “Missile Man of India.” The memorial is located at Pei Karumbu, which is the burial site of Dr. Kalam. It includes a memorial building, Samadhi, statue, library and well landscaped gardens.

Uttara Kosha Mangai Temple

The Uttarakosamangai Temple, also known as the Kailasanathar Temple, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Uttarakosamangai, a village near Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, India. This ancient temple is known for its architectural beauty and spiritual significance. It is believed to have been built during the Chola period, making it a historically and culturally significant site.

Kurusadai Island

Kurusadai Island is a small, uninhabited island located in the Gulf of Mannar Biosphere Reserve, off the coast of Rameswaram. The island’s diverse ecosystem includes coral reefs, sea grass beds, and mangrove forests, providing habitat for a wide variety of marine life, including fish, crustaceans, mollusks, and other invertebrates. It is also home to numerous bird species and serves as a stopover point for migratory birds. You can take a boat ride to the island by going to Vivekananda Memorial.
